I think it is amazing that some creatures can survive in the freezing conditions of the depp sea. Also, these creatures are surviving in an area with extreme pressure. There are lots of fish who can see using light, like the viper fish. There are lots of different looking fish in the deep sea that we would not normally see, besides in pictures. Jacob Francy
there are many creatures that live in the deep sea that are still a mystery to us. One fish is the gullper ell. the deep sea is still such a mystery and is still needed to be explored.
There are many interesting and cool creatures that live in the deep sea. The one I find interesting is the ping pong sponge. It is a carnivorous sponge.
i thought that the deep sea anglefish was interesting because it have a bulb on its head. i liked it bacause it was funny looking and because it was in the movie finding nemo.
I think that all creatures of the deep are unique in thier own way. The creature of the deep that i think is the most unique is the Vampire Squid. It has large fins that resemble ears and its form is more of a jellyfish. Even though it only grows about 6 inches, its eyes are about the size of a large dog.
I love this topic because I think learning about all the strange cratures is interesting. My favorite creature is the dumbo squid. I think itscool because it got its name from its ear-like fins on top of its body which look like the ears of Walt Disney's character Dumbo, the flying elephant.
A rare creature that lives at the depths of the ocean is the glass squid. This squid is clear like glass and polka dotted skin. This species was located at the under sea mountain range in the North Atlantic. Another creature is the dumbo squid. They are 20 meters in length, at the max. They got their names from the Disney character, Dumbo, because of the size of their freakishly long and large ears. These were also found in the North Atlantic. I LOVE THE GLASS SQUID AND THE DUMBO OCTUOPUS/SQUID!!!
Well, the Lanterfish is really cool because its entire body is lit up! Deep under the sea, he can see where he/she goes, but is easily seen in the dark dark areas where he lives.
I think the coolest ones are the ones that live about 16,000 feet down. Thats 3 miles! i wonder if one day we would be able to live under such pressure and weight.
I learned a lot about these creatures. What i thought was interesting was how the creatures adapted. I also learned how the pressure really affects the life that inhabats it. The exploration is really cool too. I think that the technology could be better to find out more about the deep sea. Overall i think that this topic is good to learn about.
The most interesting deep sea animal that i found is the axolotl. It was so cute! It looked like a pokemonish type thing. It lives near Mexico and most amazingly, it can regenerate limbs!
I absolutely loved learning about the creatures of the deep sea. One creature I found very fascinating would be the Dumbo Squid. It was named after Disney's Dumbo because it has ear-like flaps. They swim by moving the little ear-like flaps, like Dumbo.
Some of fish that live in the deep ocean and the trenches are not dicovered yet. The fish that have been discovered are very different then all other species. They have different characteristics and are scary looking. I like the angler fish teh most because of the light that is attached to it's head.
The creatures underneath the sea are very interesting. We can not find a lot about these animals because our bodys would get crushed because of the pressure. That would not be good. There is predicted that there are giant squids the size of a building or a house. My favorite animal is the angler fish because it has a light attached to the top of its head. Thats pretty cool! The vampire squid is very interesting too! A lot of the animals scare me because they look creepy and im glad they live deep where i cant swim. They could get me! The sperm whale has the largest of all tooths in the whale species. It could get me in one bite! It can grow all the way up to 67 feet! Thats bigger then my house! It can also grow allt the way up to 65 tons! The males are ususally 30 to 50% larger then the females. The sperm whales used to be the target for most whaling ships because there was so much of them! The viperfish can grow up to a foot and it has very sharp teeth.
I think it is amazing that animals at the bottom of the ocean can survive and live in complete darkness. I also think it is interesting how these creatures can survive under the pressure. Some animals live at depths of 10,000 feet! There are so many organisms that live at the bottom of the ocean that we don't even know about. I wonder if some day, we will have the equipment to go down to the depths of the ocean to research and find new creatures of the ocean.
My favorite deep sea animal is the firefly squid. The three inch squid lives as deep as 1200 feet from the surface of the Western Pacific Ocean, and is covered with photophores that glow blue.
Did you know that we know less about the deep sea than we do about the moon? That means that deep sea creatures are like aliens, right?
I think giant squids are really cool because if something that big lived on land or even in the shallow part of the ocean, it would probably be hunted to extinction. Plus it has eyes the size of dinner plates.
The creatures that live in the deep sea are very efficient, because they have no light, have to withstand extreme pressure that would crush a person, have no heat, and food is scarce. It must be hard to be an animal in the deep sea.
I found the symbiotic relationships that some deep sea creatures have most interesting. Certain bacterias make the fish luminescent which attracts food to the fish. An example of one of these fish is the Hawaiian Bobtail squid.
I like the Benthocodon. It's a small red jellyfish and it is only 4 cm in width, but it has over 1,000 small tentacles. It's a strong swimmer and lives at the ocean floor.
Creatures of the Deep Sea By: Colton Taylor Ocean vents are very toxic to humans but many underwater species can stand them and live in them. Humans used to think life under 2,000 meters of water were barren and lifeless. Vents form randomly when crustal rocks crack. Away from vents things like whale carcasses support many organisms. Microbes are single-celled organisms. Although microbes are small they are very important. Some microbes live inside organisms and manufacture food for them. There are 2 types of microbes, bacteria, and archaea. They help heat resistance and have it themselves. Tubeworms are also found in many areas. Some in cold seeps, some on decomposing whales, and some near volcanoes and vents. Tubeworms feed without mouths.
The anglerfish is one of the most strangest creatures in the sea. There are 200 diffrent types of them. My favorite is the one with the dangling light.
Creatures of the deep are very interesting because the water pressure at those depths of the ocean are equal to more than 17,000 buckets of water sitting on your head. The animals that live there have to adapt to the cold and dark enviroment. There is no plants, no light, and very little oxygen. Many of the animals that live in the deep produce their own light. An example of an animal that lives here is a Dumbo Octopus, it's about 8 inches tall. They have been found just sitting on the ocean floor, quietly with their mantles out for no reason.
My favorite comment was that giant squids have 18" eyes!
