Geologic Events - Hollywood Style

  1. The movie 2012, doesn't have enough science to be a factual movie. After looking at some movie reviews, and researching about the movie it self, you can see that basically none of the movie is geologicly correct. If it is the scales of the planets in the video, the "Mayan Calender," or the explination of an apocolypse, it just doesn't seem like a logical thing to happen.

  2. The movie "2012" is some what true but mostly false. The reason it is true is because the events in the movie could happen but not anywhere in our lifetime. But the amount of false things in the movie is ridiculous. The thing that made the movie completly false is the explanation of the events that happened. Like the world is not going to end because the Mayan Calender ended. I give this movie a 2 because the some things are true like the Mayan Calender is ending and that the events could happen but not in 2012. Its a good movie but the amount of false things is quite sad

  3. In the movie Journey to the Center of the Earth the characters run across veins of free metallic magnesium in the ground which is unrealistic because after reasearching it I found out that it would not be found in the center of earth since it is in a place made out of molten lava. Also when the main characters fall they don't fall nearly as long as they would if they actually went to the center of our earth. If they made a movie about going to the real center of the earth they would all be crushed from the intense pressure; that doesn't seem like an ideal set to shoot you movie. What do you think???
